You Make the Decision

I've felt better today than I have in about a month. I had more energy, less pain and an appetite. I really, really believe this chemo is working and I'll be running a marathon soon. I thank God for a good day.

Being sick gives me time to reflect. Today I was reminiscing about the past and how I use to let small issues at work and in my personal life affect my attitude and the way I went about life. Now I'm starting to look at what's important in life which is God, family, friends and living life to the fullest. Your attitude or outlook on life is what you decide it will be. We shouldn't let a person, a job, or a situation affect what's really important.

You make the decision.

"My brothers and sisters, you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, think of it as pure joy.Your faith will be put to the test. You know that when that happens it will produce in you the strength to continue. The strength to keep going must be allowed to finish its work. Then you will be all you should be. You will have everything you need." James 1:2-4

  1. I'm a friend of Tiffany's. We went to Texas State together. I'm actually going through cancer/chemo myself. I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had surgery and already one chemo treatment.

You have such a positive attitude. That's the way I try to look at too.

Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you and your family.

  2. Mark, I just found this site. I only met you twice, but I know you are a big enough man to conquer this challenge. I will follow your progress and God and I and your many friends will be there at the finish line for you. Hang tough because that's who you are.

  3. I believe too that you will be out running a marathon. "TEAM MARK" Your strength and words are so powerful. Isn't life funny? We go along and let things worry us or bother us that we have no control over. We get in tight situations and God sees us through. I believe that along the path we choose to take, we are only writing the story of our destiny. If we stop long enough to reflect, we finally get it...HE has it all under control. You keep your GREAT attitude and this race is going to be won!

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (1 Pet 5.6-7)

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better. I will take your advice and not take the small things in life for granted. Everyday I will make sure that my love ones, starting with you, know how much I love them and live my life to the fullest.

I know the chemo is working, so I'm getting ready to run the marathon with you.

    All my love and prayers.
